A plains zebra pauses at the edge of the thorn thicket, ears pricked and muzzle lowered a touch, the warm light catching the pale gaps between its stripes. The 400 mm lens closes the distance and lets the foreground branches dissolve to a soft green haze, leaving the animal to hold the frame alone.
